The most common types of wasps found in North America consist of hornets, yellow jackets, paper wasps, and mud wasps. Wasps have a slim body with two pairs of wings and a stinger only found in females. Like bees without the fuzziness, they are around the same shape and size, usually found in the colour black or yellow and black. Wasp nests can be found on the side of buildings, attics, trees or shrubs. It is best to avoid any encounter with wasps, because they can get extremely defensive and territorial if disturbed.
